Aprilia Shiver 750

The Shiver is one of the best bikes of Aprilia, probably better even than the RSV4. Its potential is very impressive especially when Aprilia said that it could easily produce 100 bhp through the electronics and a couple of minor changes. The bike is not slow and this is due shorter gearing that took care of that. During the test period of the bike, the difference in feel and performance convinced us that there were some changes made. Also the handling seems to be a little better and when you seat on the chair you are placed high almost like seating in supermoto style, you are higher than everything and its like you are driving an SUV after a Smart. We advice you to go easy with the brake lever if you want a pleasant and efficient damping. The rear provides a lot of confidence in that that you don't need think about it much. The bike has also some weak points like the lack of adjustability on the front, it needs a better fork kit. The electronic throttle is also improved and the engine feels crisp. The engine is a modern v-twin and is rapid up to 131 mph top-speed. The four valves per cylinder 749 cc V-twin is highly over-square, and is run by a complex engine management and fuelling system including a Ride by Wire throttle. It uses a 90 degrees configuration to reduce vibrations and its fine atomising injectors, along with two plugs per cylinder, offer more powerful and cleaner combustion. It is a very promising bike and we hope that the next generation will be almost perfect.
